The first fire company in Jersey Shore, The Neptune Fire Company was organized in 1860 and the citizens approved a specal fire tax that allowed borough council to buy a new engine, leather hose and hose carriage
Officially chartered on October 2nd, 1902, The Independent Hose Company No. 1 of Jersey Shore was Jersey Shore’s first established fire department and continues to carry on the tradition with hard work and pride.
